I'm really surprised when several leading news sites informed that Apple was in process of recalling its Verizon iPad 2. How many iPad 2 was recalled? I don't know exactly, since no site informed the exact number included Apple side. Apple side just stated "an extremely small number". Hehm?
Of course this recalling affected to iPad 2 supplies, which right now Apple is struggling to meet demand. By the way do yo know this recalling reason?
The problem was caused by device
identifiers issue, known as ”mobile equipment identifiers” (MEIDs). MEIDs is playing a key role when setting up a new iPad for cellular data activation. Due to a problem with Verizon flashing the same MEIDs on different iPads, users could run into the impossibility of activating their device as it’s already registered on the carrier’s network.
MEIDs is a unique number that is used to identify a mobile device when it connects to the network. So, two devices cannot have the same MEIDs. And now, Apple is replacing the affected units that were already sold with new ones. And I suggest yourself to hurry contacting Apple retail store. ^_^
