New Open Source OS, Tizen

Still fresh in our memory, how Intel with Nokia developed an operating system together, named as Meego. Although Meego is unsuccessful, but Intel doesn'tgive up and now Intel is trying to develop a new operating system, named as Tizen together with Samsung which had same bad experience with its OS, Bada.

As quoted from www.tizen.org, "Tizen is an open source, standards-based software platform for multiple device categories, including smartphones, tablets, netbooks, in-vehicle infotainment devices, smart TVs, and more. Tizen will offer an innovative operating system, applications, and a user experience that consumers can take from device to device." Actually Tizen is a Linux-based operating system. And Tizen is hosted by Linux Foundation.

The architecture of Tizen could be illustrated as below picture :

So far, Tizen already released its alpha version January 25 ago. While, the beta version was released February 28 ago. What's new on Tizen beta? Tizen.org explains "Compared to the alpha release, the beta release provides significant improvement on the development environment. With the improved Tizen SDK and builds, developers can run the SDK on Windows as well as on Ubuntu, and they are provided with more efficient ways to manage their projects and code."

To download Tizen, visit source.tizen.org. If you want to contribute to develop Tizen, you could visit developer.tizen.org. To complete my explanation, I post several screenshots of Tizen (Source : thenextweb.com).
