Happy Birthday Ubuntu!

Do you know when Ubuntu firstly released? How many Ubuntu version has been released since its debut? What’s your answer?

Last October 20th ago, Ubuntu has just celebrated its seventh birthday. Please say “Happy birthday, Ubuntu” First debut of Ubuntu was announced by Mark Shuttleworth on October 20th 2004, named Ubuntu 4.10 dubbed as “Warty Warthong.” I admit, I’m really unfamiliar with this oldest version. If you ask me, I just know Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron) or the newer.

Ubuntu has announced 15 versions since its debut, as follows :

  1. Ubuntu 4.10 (Warty Warthog),
  2. Ubuntu 5.04 (Hoary Hedgehog),
  3. Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger),
  4. Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (Dapper Drake),
  5. Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft),
  6. Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn),
  7. Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon),
  8. Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (Hardy Heron),
  9. Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex),
  10. Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope),
  11. Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala),
  12. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (Lucid Lynx),
