In fact, Windows XP still holds 55% in market as the most popular OS in the world, while Windows 7 just holds 24%.
Windows 7 was launched on October 2009 ago. Although it's still 18 months, but Windows 7 has an impressive growth in its liscense sale, by selling about 350 million liscenses.
In detail, it took 11 months to sell the first 175 million liscenses, and only 7 months to sell the second 175 million liscenses. It's really different with its older sibling Windows Vista which only sold 180 million liscenses in 18 months.
When I asked my friends, why they prefered Windows 7 to the others OS, they stated that Windows 7 was easy, light and and it had great appearances. They felt satisfied and got positive and productive experienses with Windows 7. So no wonder, if analyst firms like IDC estimates that more than 90% of businesses are currently in progress with their Windows 7 migrations. So, you could imagine, how many liscenses that will be sold by the end of this year. I believe it will make fantastic number.
Microsost continously makes Windows 7 better, by releasing Windows Live Wave 4, the first service pack for Windows 7, and recently launched Internet Explorer 9. If you're user of Windows 7, you deserve to be proud. :D
